Protecting our Ancestral Burial Grounds
Indian Point, St. Andrews N. B.

The town council of St. Andrews has voted to proceed with plans for a news housing development on Indian Point. There is documentation that this area has Native Burial sites located there, and that this area is also recognized historically as being a meeting place for the Wabenaki People.

Plans for "Gathering of Nations" on this land as Passamaquoddy territory, to "Honor our Ancestors" are in the works. the focus of this gathering will be the protection of our Burial Grounds, and to show that we will not stand by and allow further desecration of this sacred area.

An urgent appeal is being sent across Turtle Island for participation in this Gathering. The proposed date will be the weekend of May 31, June 1st & 2nd 2002.
