A tribal leader with vision and diplomacy charisma to be missed

Sipayik will miss a tribal leader, Sakom Melvin J. Francis, Sr., who had an open door policy. He was a very approachable person. He addressed me as son or young man when I had to see him in his office. He always supported me with my projects. He also interceded for me a couple of times concerning my problems at work and home. He did not have to do this for me, but he welcomed me and accepted me like I was a kin and a tribal member. His last words to me a day before his accident was a question about how things are going. I told him good and better. He replied, "Good." His concern and question were genuine.
