Traditional Gathering

Indian Point, St. Andrews N. B.
MAY 31, JUNE 1 - 2, 2002

Protecting our Traditional Burial and Ceremonial Grounds

Open invitation to members of the Wabenaki Confederacy and our Brothers and Sisters across Turtle Island, to come celebrate and Honor our Culture.

The town of St. Andrews has voted to proceed  with their plans for development on Indian Point, the Traditional Gathering place of our Ancestors. We will not allow this to happen. Please plan to show your support by attending the Gathering.

We need to stand strong and united against the threat of this Encroachment and Desecration of out Traditional Terroritories.

Camping area will be available. Come prepared with sleeping gear, tents, and personal items. It is strongly recommended that those who require medication to come  with enough supply for the weekend.

Please pass the word that we would like the participation of as many Drum Groups as possible to ensure that there is constant Drumming during the weekend.

Traditional ceremonies are being planned. Traditionalists who would like to volunteer are encouraged to help out.

Financial donations to help with the costs to provide meals for the weekend would be greatly appreciated. These can be made at the Bank of Montreal: Branch #201, Checking Account #8038.
